Michael Gifford is the Founder and Managing Director of Mountain Hare Consulting. He originally studied Physics and has a PhD from Cambridge University. Michael joined Atkins, a FTSE 250 Engineering Consultancy as a Technical Lead in 2003. There he discovered a talent for applying problem solving techniques from physics to the world of business.
Following the completion of an MBA at HEC Paris in 2007, Michael worked at Atkins in both strategic and operational roles within the company including responsibility for a number of successful, fast-growing businesses.
Michael started Mountain Hare Consulting in 2013 as a way of helping much smaller firms benefit from his expertise in growing businesses and managing that growth.
Away from work, Michael is a keen sportsman. He has been a successful dinghy and small keelboat sailor at national and international level and also coaches rowing for some of the Cambridge colleges. When not near the water, Michael enjoys spending time with his children Daisy and Edward.
